04/07/2018 Conversation with your body
Yesterday we made vegan hotdogs to celebrate July 4th :)
To be honest, it was just an excuse to have some 'junk food'. We saw tofu sausages at the supermarket and got excited. I was not hangry but I knew I will be later on. I really don't like to sleep with full stomach as it makes me tired when I wake up. Instead of skipping dinner, I have the hotdogs just because it was a right time for me to have dinner.
Here I am at a lovely cafeteria at my work looking over 180 degrees view on the fifth tallest building in Japan. I feel my stomach is still full of meals and I am feeling unpleasant sensation around my lower abdomen. I love the feeling that wake up with empty stomach and my body is telling me to have some fresh green juice. Then it always makes me wonder how come I keep repeating this old bad habit?
Our brain is always scanning for fear and danger. Not being able to ear is danger for our survival. Craving for something is here to destruct current unpleasant sensation as eating can give instant pleasant sensation.
This is the truth and we cannot kill these emotions and feeling. Understanding this is already a great step and here is the powerful and practical question to address consuming unnecessary food;
- Whenever I am going to eat, ask myself "Is my body really hungry?"
- Most of the time I eat because my MIND wants to have some instant pleasure
- If you do fasting (intermittent fasting is an easy way to start with), you are able to cultivate intuitive eating.
- If you are aware that your body is actually not hungry, then try to sip some tea, go for a quick walk or do some sunbathing.
I would love to talk on this topic a lot here as wellbeing is my passion and food/nutrition are one of the most important pillars but that's all for today.
Thank you for spending your time to read this.
